Quebrada de Humahuaca in Jujuy, a place of natural beauty



The province of Jujuy is located in the north west part of Argentina, Jujuy offers tourists year-round activities, its a land rich in history and traditions, many of which date back to the pre-Columbian
times. Visitors can then enjoy their colorful festivals, and its delicious food and wines.

In the province of Jujuy is the Quebrada de Humahuaca with its unique multicolored hills.

The "Quebrada de Humahuaca" begins 39 kilometers from San Salvador de Jujuy, and covers about 170 miles of mountains and valleys arranged from south to north. The mountains have different colors according to the minerals that forms them. This landscape is between 2000 and 4000 meters above sea level and has a strip of 13 kilometers wide that are watered in times of thaw by the Rio Grande river.

The Quebrada de Humahuaca is an arid landscape of great beauty and rich cultural heritage, which is evident in the villages along the south to north: Bárcena, Volcano, which stresses Purmamarca-Hill of Seven Colors, Maimará, Tilcara. Perchel, Huacalera, Uquia, Humahuaca and Tres Cruces. Climatic conditions make the winter, cool and dry, is the ideal season to visit.
